Privacy Policy

The short version

The current App does not collect personal information. It has no accounts, ads, tracking, or analytics, and it does not send your reading activity to us. Bookmarks, settings, and reading position stay on your device. On the Site, we receive only information you choose to submit through the waitlist or reader-research survey, plus standard technical information processed by our hosting and form providers.

1. Information in the App

The App stores bookmarks, reader preferences, content settings, and your last reading position locally on your device. Narrative cannot see this information, and it is removed when you delete the App, subject to any device backups controlled by you or Apple.

The current App does not require an account; collect your name, email, contacts, location, photos, or device identifiers; send reading history, searches, or bookmarks over the internet; or use advertising and tracking tools.

Apple operates the App Store and TestFlight. Apple’s policies govern the information it processes and any aggregated store, diagnostic, beta-testing, or feedback information it may provide to developers.

2. Information on the Site

You may choose to give us your email address through the waitlist. The reader-research survey may receive your answers, optional written responses, an optional email address, and your choice about whether we may contact you.

Our website host and form provider process standard technical information needed to deliver and secure the Site, including an IP address, browser information, requested pages, submission metadata, and spam-prevention signals.

The Site does not currently use advertising or behavioral-tracking cookies. Any strictly necessary technical cookies used by infrastructure providers are not used by Narrative for advertising or profiling.

3. How we use information

• To send Narrative product updates when you join the waitlist.
• To understand reader needs and improve Narrative through survey responses.
• To follow up about feedback only when you provide contact information and permission.
• To operate beta tests, resolve problems, secure the Site, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Sharing and service providers

Narrative LLC shares information only with providers that help us operate the Services, when required by law or needed to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business reorganization or transfer.

5. Storage and retention

App data remains on your device. Waitlist information is retained until you unsubscribe, request deletion, or it is no longer needed for launch communications. Survey responses are retained only while useful for product research and are then deleted or separated from contact information.

6. Children’s privacy

Narrative is designed primarily for adults. The Site and waitlist are intended for people age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The current App does not collect personal information from any user.

7. Your choices and rights

You may unsubscribe from update emails, control or delete locally stored App data, and ask Narrative LLC to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply.

8. Security and changes

We use reasonable safeguards for the limited information we hold, including established service providers, HTTPS, and restricted access to submissions. No transmission or storage method is completely secure. We will revise this Policy when our practices change and will identify material changes through the Site or App where appropriate.
